merry, merry
so many of us now
have had the
celestial pleasure
of spending some
very ordinary moments
with rosemerry
in
retrospect
which is the very best way
to share them
you see
if we’d been
in that garden
ourselves
alone
we might have been
thinking
dust
weeds
bugs
sun
back hurts
so do knees
never mind
it’ll be over soon
go back inside
relax in chair
watch some tv
but see
rosemerry was there
with us
we
watched birds fly
together
communing
about this
and that
and the other thing and
before we knew it
it was time to go in and
enjoy
making food
slowly
and that was when
she described it,
our time in the garden
and we lucky listeners saw
what in it
we had not seen before
all the beauty
all the pathos
the connections,
nurturance of and by,
wisps of regret
glories of beginning
o
so much
more
than mere
acceptance of it
All:
delight,
delight,
de
light
