The Pyramids Were Built With Plumb-Bobs

From time to time ungrateful we
Regard our blessings carelessly
Among which must notably be
Useful effects of gravity

For those practically awake,
The simple measurement to take
Regarding where a line to break
Magnificent monolith make

Required a stone, a hand, a line
Procured by methods all benign
To build monuments to design
A thousand years still standing fine

When faced with such a challenge, we
Whom less awakened surely be
Will most excruciatingly
Unsuper’ior result see

Undertake in trouble more
Need ever be expended for
Construction e’en begin before —
Wastefulness ancients abhor!

Our efforts we do not abate —
Factories working soon and late,
In squalor dismal to relate,
Commercial “levels” to create
