My Fellow Countrymen

You like howling motors
And screaming misery ~
Sweating, crying women
“Entertainment” be
You will pay a whole movie
And then a sequel see
Of nothing but two people,
One sawyer and one sawee,
For the whole two hours
Cutting up each other be

But one thing you can’t countenance
And that is poetry
