Back when this song was written, Sacramento’s lower K Street didn’t present the trendy strip of upper end establishments to be found there today.
Since then, it’s been sung all over the country, to the smiles, head shakes and laughter of total recognition: Every city has a one or two syllable street name which answers to the description. In Denver, for instance, it’s “Colfax.”
