Touched by Poetry

Some of the plainest people
That you will ever see
Live lives most beautifully blessed
By a few lines of poetry

Since they may not be erudite,
Might not be the kind
To read thick books, we imagine
They to beauty must be blind

But poetry is everywhere,
Making up each song
By which our hearts are lifted,
Helped to get along

On Christmas ~ on all holidays ~
We give our loved ones cards
Describing of their value
Our own effort well rewards

And then there are those times
When, though to read it we don’t try,
A few short lines of poetry
In life come drifting by

Quoted in a movie, or on the radio,
A careless note left by the phone,
A poster in a waiting room,
And suddenly by us is known

More deeply and more resonantly
Those eternal truths of love
Which every day, from then till death,
We have, and give, benefit of

This poet works for the good of her nation and society, seven days a week.

She’s in a pretty bad fix right now ~ due to the new crime of online targeting already homeless, now for the same reason the van she lives in has stopped running. Not a hope of fixing it without donations.

SHE WILL NOT SIGN AWAY HER CIVIL RIGHTS AND ABANDON HER POSSESSIONS TO ENTER IMPRISONMENT IN A “SHELTER.” SHE WILL NOT WAIT FOR IMPRISONMENT FOR AN UNPAYABLE FINE.

One ticket is death. Real.

Arts patrons may visit http://www.UgiftABLE.com to make donations of any amount, using code 72D-31S. It will take about two weeks for the poet to be notified of your patronage.

International donors should contact her through these comments or the contact page address on this site for special instructions.

Thank you for supporting quality in the fine arts.
