Light of Kindness
A little kindness must a day improve
No matter what day of our week it be —
A day dedicate we to toil behoove,
Or let evolve its moments leisurely
Whether begun in bliss felicitous
Or anger, or despair, or hopelessness,
Live and breathe not a single one of us
Who so impervious to kindness is
That one glance from a merry twinkling eye
One sympathetic nod, one cheerful smile
One understanding nudge a brother by
May’nt we from our despondency beguile
How dark our world — each regrettable bit —
Till shines the light of kindness into it!
