A poet is not judged
Upon fashionable dress —
She with an ageless beauty
Her surroundings bless

A poet’s value’s not determined
By which boss in town she please
And whether do so ‘propriately
On her bended knees

A poet’s work should not required
To self-edited be
Coming out “deconstructed”
Although fashionably

A poet should be judged
All questions otherwise apart
By this, and this standard alone —
How deeply has she touched your heart?
