The Lesson Will be Repeated Until it is Learned

This was just a dress rehearsal
Make no complacent mistake
We must learn a dying planet
Doth a dying people make

We must learn to find a balance
Between selfishness and greed
And the present interests
Right beside us, and in need

We must learn, when we are finished
Playing — just as children do,
Our responsibility
Is look the cleaning up unto

This was just a dress rehearsal
We haven’t really learned a thing
But learn we will, as more disasters
Home to us our lessons bring
