As can be heard in the recording of this poem, crime network operators feel perfectly free to drive our streets with a big sign on their windshields saying, “Member Right Over Here! Bust MEEEE!” ~ and followed closely by waves of toxic air.

This poet has been watching it for years, in towns and cities from one coast of this nation to the other ~ while members of our justice system stopped her illegally, ticketed her for crimes she did not commit, moved her illegally, enforced unpromulgated laws, destroyed evidence, and lied outright.

People in uniforms of all sorts are favorite ~ favorite ~ network recruits.

The time is about 4:40 PM.

Fulfillment

I’m glad, I’m glad I didn’t wait
Didn’t dither, hesitate,
Leave it till it was too late
The mem’ries of this life create

Some turned out better, it is true,
Than others of them seemed to do
And then there were those awful few
‘Twere up to me, I would redo

Some my entire poor life upturned
But if I’d any of them spurned
I’d not have their good lessons learned ~
What wisdom would I then have earned?

And, now old age is bending me
At hip and back and neck and knee,
I look behind ~ what do I see
In searching my fond memory?

I have walked with high and low
Their each perspective come to know
And I have been beloved, oh!
And hated, too ~ but this you know

I’ve learned the very equal worth 
Of every creature here on Earth
Those of tears and those of mirth ~
All each of us can give birth

Since birth to death we ever ran
Since what we know as time began
Within our terrestrial span:
Fulfillment of the Divine plan
