The Highest Love
‘Tis said angels are found often to weep
When witnessing the miseries of man
As they their hov’ring vigil ever keep
And ever have kept, since this world began
And it is also, though less often, said
By those generally supposed to know
That entities whom bands of angels head
Do not at such sights so sorrowful grow
And, though it even more unlikely seem,
When souls of sinners come beneath their eyes
They no infraction in such spirits deem
Nor can they see it any otherwise
For those who dwell the Source of Light nearin
Conceive no imperfections: see no sin
