Proud Flesh
There’s no such thing as pride for me
When I my own successes see
I cannot any credit take
For aught diff’rences I make
In this world to come to be
When I reach out to those confused
(Both abusers and abused)
It isn’t I who’s reaching out
That’s not what this is all about
I’m just a spirit being used
By forces far larger than this
Small human being lost in bliss ~
Strength which illness compromise
Mind which can’t be truly wise ~
My friend, that’s just the way it is
I had no hand in making me
If I behave compass’ionately
And then collect the benefit
Of feeling good because of it
It’s none of my responsibility!

This poet works for the good of her nation and society, seven days a week.
She’s in a pretty bad fix right now ~ already homeless, and now the van she lives in has stopped running. Not a hope of fixing it without donations. One ticket is death. Real.
Arts patrons may visit http://www.UgiftABLE.com to make donations of any amount, using code 72D-31S. It will take about two weeks for the poet to be notified of your patronage.
International donors should contact her through these comments or the contact page address on this site for special instructions.
Thank you for supporting quality in the fine arts.
