In a conservative political environment, private patronage is supposed to replace public.

Personally this poet has seen no evidence of anything but such a rising ignorance among our public leaders that they no longer speak ~ even for our increasingly limited press ~ in grammatically correct sentences.

Unless and until that does happen, I am paid only to live in pain, and to be a parasite on this great nation ~ am in fact daily castigated for so doing ~ and plan to enjoy my useless existence as much as possible without adequate sleep, until presented by our uniformed personnel with the ticket intended to lead to my imprisonment for uselessness.

Something before which submitting to I will die free by my own hand.

I AM a true American.

And it is a dying breed.
