Posted this morning for Camilla Wells Paynter (check her out here on WP), champion of freely immersive Being, who did this poet the service of pointing out a relative recent absence of works in free verse on her site. (So if there’s an upwelling of plainspeak here you can just blame her for it😆)…
Now ~ regarding cultural differences between people or peoples… Might we tend toward just, perhaps, a modicum of ~ oh… BASELESS AND PERNICKETY SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS?

a savage
a “primitive” woman
is scandalized
to discover
that caucasian “ladies”
remove at early evening
almost all of the clothing
which decently
disguises them in daytime,
appearing before everyone
(with their hair all exposed too)
in something called a
cocktail dress
she herself, of course,
as any self respecting
married woman would,
checks to insure the trimness
of her decently shaven head
and,
donning extra layers
of intricately woven grass skirt,
ornaments the whole in
cloaking red ochre
clear it is to her
that caucasian woman knows not
the difference
between right and wrong
incapable of any social subtlety
she can safely
and accurately
be called
a
savage
