The poet crossed the state line to Medford, Oregon over the night before last, in search of some old paperwork. This poem came from her humorous conversation yesterday morning with the lovely lady who will be reviewing her files.

Each time the poet stopped on her journey for a break, cars and trucks gathered nearby. No one got out of their vehicles. Little shows were performed with head and tail lights. Loud generators, pounding, and banging occurred. At three AM.

As the poet pulled up to her destination, what appeared to be a major water repair ~ featuring a cement saw and several utility vehicles ~ commenced just across the street from her.

Did we expect that NOT to happen?

So far this morning while writing this post, the poet’s device has frozen once completely, requiring a full restart ~ and is still displaying anomalous hesitations and screen changes as the posting is made.

A-a-a-a-a-nd ~ WHAT DO YOU KNOW??? SURPRISE, SUPRISE!!!! The device refuses to upload the poem’s recording even though full Net connection exists (see image at page bottom featuring time of day), requiring ~ OH, JOY! ~ yet another restart before successful posting.

Paper Party!

Do you have files
In piles and piles?
Better be wary
They can get scary ~
If left too long alone
They develop
Lives of their own!

First they shed
Your letterhead
Finding it great
To lose some weight
They save a chart
For keeping score
And then they lose some more…

Analysis
Which was your bliss
To refine
The bottom line
You counted on
But now it’s gone
Wherever that letterhead is

And the form
Which by the norm
You would have filled
But coffee spilled
Upon its face
You can’t replace:
It just isn’t in its place…

Your boss
Will count the loss
And your credibility
Languish in foul misery
Your colleagues’ laugh is hearty
You don’t feel like a smarty
And all your files don’t gather moss ~
They’re having a paper party!
