The Pyramids Were Built With Plumb-Bobs
From time to time ungrateful we
Regard our blessings carelessly
Among which must notably be
Useful effects of gravity
For those practically awake,
The simple measurement to take
Regarding where a line to break
Magnificent monolith to make
Required a stone, a hand, a line
Procured by methods all benign
To build monuments to design
Thousands of years still standing fine
When faced with such a challenge, we
Whom less awakened surely be,
Will most excruciatingly
Unsuper’ior result see
Undertaken trouble more
Than need be expended for,
Construction e’en begin before —
Wastefulness ancients abhor!
Our efforts we do not abate —
Factories up soon and late,
In squalor dismal to relate —
Commercial “levels” to create
