A Better Show
Didn’t need a high res
Liquid crystal TV set
Or the latest video
Super-duper game to get
Didn’t need a Broadway play
This or any other day
Didn’t need a dancing troupe
Or a sweetly singing group
Didn’t need a console
Not yet a remote control
In fact, there little need be
To plug in electricity
I had entertainment fine
As any ever has been mine ~
Moved my mind
To thoughts sublime
Lifted up this hopeful heart
To wish to do its tender part,
Mended, patched and made more whole
This a bit too weary soul…
I surely know
A better show
I couldn’t get
Than this evening’s lovely sunset
