Against the Fence

How unpleasant it must be
To go about perpetually
Intentionally
Withholding
Some small part of everything
In anyone confide
Keeping a few facts aside
So that on some later day
You’ll be able snide to say
Their conclusions are foregone
Based false information on

Allowing you to inwardly
Mock at those who seem to be
Not just of full facts unaware
But also, right then and right there,
Whilst they in trust your words receive
You are laughing up your sleeve:
So ignorant — they cannot see
You bolstering hegemony!

Laugh this moment, laugh this day
Dictating these rules of play
By repetition written firm ~
Later it’s yourself will squirm
Behind your back will people state
In company don’t feel so great
With no genuine defense
And your back against the fence
