Black Belt

I am such an empath
I make strangers laugh and cry
Walking down the street together
In the short blink of an eye

I could so destroy you
With one rightly chosen word
None I’ve ever spoken
Nor ever will be heard

You wonder why I won’t involve
Myself your petty squabbles in
There’s not a chance that I might lose
And neither one wants me to win
