Just Saying

I write the same things honestly
As others whom but gossips be

Indeed, most oft they say much worse
Than does my clearly-visioned verse

Which sticks to truth, and to event
Instead of falsehood giving vent

But when they see it on the page
It throws them into tow’ring rage:

“This is an outrage and a bust
— That poet’s actually been just!”
