It is educational to read newspaper clippings from just a month before the Great Depression. Business was booming! Invest, invest, invest!!!
The poet’s online device has displayed half a dozen anomalous screens in the hour it has taken to make her last three posts.

“Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” ~ Winston Churchill.
Business as Usual
Civilizations have fallen
All the signs were there
Always there were one or two
Crying the beware
Now it’s happening again
In our very present
We again prioritize
Being politely pleasant
Going out to dinner
Maybe catch a play
Forget the alarming sounds
Ringing through each day
We don’t see anything here
In the least unusual —
Nothing to prevent, let’s say,
Business as usual
