Silver Lining

A rising sense have we today
New elements come into play
Lit by this fresh photonic ray
We see, perhaps, a better way

With a glowing preciousness
New perspectives seem to bless
Each former “ordinary” thing
Songs of praise for present sing!

This newly rising, brighter now
Examinations fresh allow
Of daily gifts which, just ago,
Seemed unremarkable enow ~

We would miss her unique style
His welcoming, her crooked smile
Unconsciously our lives beguile
With that which makes them truly worth their while
