how He did it
want to know how
Jesus healed the blind,
sick and halting?
really?…
no, you don’t.
you’ve been told already
many, many
many times
didn’t listen then
in fact
you destroyed
the messenger
messy
painful
not
okay
don’t think i wanna pay
the price
for repeating it
to you now
think i’ll just walk away
call it good
go hide ma haid,
eh?
no, you say
you’d really
really like to know?
enough not to hate me
for overstating
yet again the
obvious?
okay, then,
we’ll see:
He did it
with Love.
He did it by desiring
with all His Heart
to get close enough
to put His hand
on that doubtlessly
unwashed
head,
to bypass the
dust, tears and sweat,
the worn garments
odors
and attitude of despair
to gaze
directly
into the
eyes
of that
un
fortunate
with His gaze
brimming over
with nothing
but
compassion
unmixed
with
any
tiniest
need
to make Himself
superior
to any of them
any
of
them
looking
straight across
one earthly vagabond
to another
(when He could have
instead been reclining
amid passionately devoted attendants
seeing to His every need
and whim)
and saying
this:
“it’s not your fault
not your burden now
you’ve just missed the mark a little
we all do it ~
should have seen Me
lose my temper just now
at the temple!…
leave it behind you now
it’s more than possible,
you see, when we
only Love
one
another.”
