The question, upon consideration of the following offering, is this:
What’s world class poetry “worth” to our society, in its own lifetime?
So far ~ homelessness, humiliation, and twenty four hour harassment.
Soon, as the new laws take effect ~ the choice between imprisonment, and a peaceful death at my own hand.
Give me liberty, or give me death.
Bring my targeter to justice, so that I can find a place to exist, without subjecting my hosts to risk.
Hello?… Hello?…
Three and a half years. Fifteen thousand miles. Three American cities. Four, now…
We will say afterward, “Back then, they couldn’t tell a masterpiece from a greeting card.”
Too late for me.

Something Worthy
I’ve found something I can do
To make other people smile
To ease somebody else’s burden
For a little while
For there have been those times when I
Was staggering in pain
When someone lifted mine till I
Was back in shape again
But seldom have I seemed to find
The talent, skill, the knack
Successfully to manage
To give something back
Now, I hope, might have discovered
On this needful Earth
Something I am good for
Something I am worth
