This poet makes no secret of her opinion that the Literary Departments of our institutions of higher learning have, tragically, devolved into hotbeds of mediocrity-glorifying mutual petty one-upmanship.
For additional metrically-couched commentary on this fertile subject, please see the search bar at her site’s page bottom, typing in such titles as “A Panel of Modern Poetic Judges” and “To All Present and Future Literary Pundits, Naysayers, Nitpickers and Academic Assholes.”

Addled Academics
O you who practice in deception
Have I told the truth to you?
Well you may feel free to hate me
Oh, wait — you already do!
Before I said your halls are hollow,
And your processes, mundane,
Have outlived their usefulness
And capacity for gain
Before I called that spade a spade,
Called intellect’ualism’s sham,
You already disapproved
Of everything I am
For it is inconvenient
Too bright a light there shining be,
Upon the shadows falsehood in,
Of poetic authenticity
