Beyond the Rainbow

Our needs are very individual
Unique as any fingerprints may be
No single and simplistic pyramid
Can e’er direct satisfactorily

The diet every single man require
To make him happy, healthy, well and whole
Our suetless dry Southern diet all
Their health from the native Alaskans stole

It is the same, a seer must observe,
With every single sole incoming thing,
Each image and emotion carelessly
Into our minds and bodies present
bring

Ralph Waldo Emerson encouraged us
To put every instruction to the test
And ascertain for independent self
For independent self what works the best

By all means, research first what might exist
In cautionary or directive way —
Perhaps you will wish to decide again
Against perhaps explosive fire with play —

Then track yourself over extended time
To see if it beneficial remain
Without any residual effects
Causing more than your original pain

And keep a careful eye your health upon
Give ear to the suggestions of your friends
But find what inspiration may be won
Beyond that rainbow’s ostensible ends
