For those following the poet’s adventures and misadventures, we have tidings unexpectedly good!
Upon return of our land manager and his lovely lady, Ascension Ranch sprang to life! Huge vehicles rolled around like so many tonka trucks. The event barn construction site became orderly. Clearance for a horse arena commenced. All manner of repairs have progressed apace. Communications ranchwide have improved more than the poet ~ to whom human communications have been largely a mystery lifelong ~ had any longer dared to hope.
WiFi has been reconnected, is available from the poet’s current parking location, and she is hot on the trail of its password!!!
Within hours or days she will be back in contact with her wonderful friends, and back to work herself!
Those who know her understand that this gift is, to her, a blessing more beautiful than diamonds ~ that all other conveniences, pleasures and even what would commonly be considered necessities have waited on it since the work was begun, and are as nothing to it now that it promises to be continued.
This particular day itself has been filled for the poet with small frustrations ~ problems reversing out of her parking spot (she’s kept pulling in a tiny bit further from her shade structure and then wiggling the shade structure over closer to it over the last few days, with the eventual result that anyone but she would have anticipated, haha!), a flat tire, a sudden lack of water for the ranch garden she just promised to water daily, then a sticky liquid spill in her in-van living/sleeping area ~ all accompanied, just as usual, in every location and at every stop by mocking squeaking and birdcalling…
… But…
She has a place to return to this afternoon, and people there who may be beginning to understand her good intentions.
Good work to do, and the ability to do it.
Hope.
Over these last weeks, posting while navigating unfamiliar territories and running errands in the world at large, there’s been little chance to focus as she would (and will!) in her own environment ~ so the poet has been in the habit of flipping through her works at random, and offering pretty much the first thing which comes to hand.
And this is that!
So looking forward to reconnecting with you all!…

A Healthy Boundary
Upon consideration, there are some
Guidelines to setting healthy boundaries —
A few small indicators, rules of thumb,
By which the best success one guarantees
Primarily among these be the use
Of only and exactly the degree
Of vehemence which that form of abuse
Bring to immediate necessity
Then also — if it’s possible — to give
An explanation calm, concise and clear,
That henceforth may that one continue live
Unburdened by confusion or by fear
And it behooves us, once the line is drawn,
Maintain our vigilance that border on
