How Fortunate

Happy is he or she has known despair!
The ordinary takes on it a rosy glow
Which those who’ve breathed in soft and fragrant air
For all their lucky lives but seldom know

A smile instead of endless contumely,
A cup of coffee in the dawning light —
These common gifts full of true wonder be!
From simple sunshine take intense delight,

From strolling out the mellow evening in,
From priveledge to do our proper work —
No more persuasion need we to begin,
No added incentive, no further perk

Who need not look to history afar
To see how fortunate we present are

Until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ and to begin once again to create professional connections and to rebuild her life, this poet presently lives homeless and at a fraction of her nation’s poverty level.

Arts patrons may visit http://www.UgiftABLE.com , using code #72D-31S, or choose to send a personal check to the poet’s ABLE account. It takes about two weeks for the poet to be notified of your patronage.

Thank you for supporting quality in the fine arts.
