Written after hearing of the underwhelming evaluation of two Nevada MENSA members who invited the poet to lunch, and were immediately so rude that she walked out before eating it.

“We’re not sure she’s intelligent,” they said, “but it was clear to us that she was trying to impress us!”

If the poet has been “trying to impress” them, she would have remained to eat both their food and their insults.

She has been tested in the past at an IQ of 181 ~ however, she herself decided that if this lunch was a fair representation of the mentality of our “intellectuals,” she has no need to go out of her way to associate with them.

Absolutely Authentic

You think I’m trying to impress you
You couldn’t be more wrong
Nothing about your opinion of me
Colors this heartfelt song

Matters it not that the average Joe
Lies twenty times in an hour
Always with eye to the lucrative tie
Base disinformative power

Notice, my friend, you’re not talking to him
Right now — you are talking to me
And more unimportant than what you might find
To look down upon there cannot be

To this mind used to roaming varietous realms
Of all of human history
The mores, the manners, the clothes and the codes
Of minds just as reas’nable be

As any among us in our modern day —
If you do not think so then you have not heard
Philosophers nearly too ancient to mention
Who yet speak the pertinent word

Your miniscule concepts of transient and
Ludicrous momentary
Shrunk expectation of all whom surround:
The hight of risibility

When sure it is true that a mere ten years gone
They did things so differently
Your own young your “ignorance” “obvious” of
Don’t admire your ability

It isn’t important, when measured against
The broad gaze of posterity,
What your provincial do’s or ignorant don’ts
Add up to in expectancy

Don’t flatter yourself in galactic regard
You play more than a tiny part
Just because in the mix that whole galaxy of
I gave you the whole of my heart

A gift I have given each mote of mere dust
Strayed into aught sunbeam on my dreaming way
Not something for which I would even consider
Resorting to falseness my virtue to slay

What speech you’ve of me comes straight out of this heart
Unfiltered by aught but this gentling soul
Which wishes forever to ever by art
Of any words practiced leave others more whole

You imagine ego’s effort in me
A level of striving and strenuous strife
To which I’d not stoop — and stoop I have not
Even when given incentive by life

If mine be two lips will not lie for conven’ience
Nor petty advantage, nor riches, nor fear
Be sure I’m not bending the least little subject
For venal placation of anyone near

I offer you all of a lifetime spent learning
And learning and learning while you watched TV
Or whatever adds up to good entertainment
For personal individuality

I offer beneficence as absolute
As has ever offered by any heart been
My insights designed to uplift, entertain,
Inform or enable — never to be mean

Never to belittle, one-up or demean
Never to make any spirit feel pain
Never with hidden thoughts of self advantage
And even more certainly, never to gain

The spurious, worthless regard of aught other
Would base their decision criterion on
Which I would not weigh out my salad for supper
A counterfeight student’s abacus on

Until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ and to begin once again to create professional connections and to rebuild her life, this poet presently lives homeless and at a fraction of her nation’s poverty level ~ still working seven days a week to contribute to her society, however.

Arts patrons may visit http://www.UgiftABLE.com , using code #72D-31S, or choose to send a personal check to the poet’s ABLE account. It takes about two weeks for the poet to be notified of your patronage.

Thank you for supporting quality in the fine arts.
