An imaginary question asked of the poet by imaginary people in the imaginary situation in which her targeters have seen justice and she is free to try to find, first a smaller space to rent, and then a home.

“Well, Woman ~ Do Y’ COOK?”
I wish to you that I could boast,
I wish that I could say,
I might your offer of a private
Little space repay
With ev’rything imaginable
God made for us folks to eat,
From the simply savory
To the complexly sweet
With all the trims and curliques
Frills and furbelows ~
The truth is less palatable
Everyone who’s tried it knows!
They one and all seem to agree
I’m not the fine French saucier (sic)
That all self-adulating upwardly
Mobile households prefer
Some cooks will specialize in
Meats or vegetables, or
Apperitif ~ well, I cook best
What’s already been cooked before!
This is the area to which I
Talent am inspired to bring ~
I do better with leftovers
Than any other thing
I’ll serve ’em to you minced or grated
Caramelized, mentholated,
Fried, frittata’d, fricasseed ~
A new dish I will have created!
All it takes are a select few
Simplest of ingredients
To make creative juices
In this nimble brain commence:
Just make sure every one’s already
Marinaded, every slice,
And heated at good temp’rature
With the appropr’iate spice,
And afterward in storing it
To take the proper care ~
After that, no need to worry:
I’ll take it from there!

Until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ and to begin once again to create professional connections and to rebuild her life, this poet presently lives homeless and at a fraction of her nation’s poverty level ~ still working seven days a week to contribute to her society, however.
Arts patrons may visit http://www.UgiftABLE.com , using code #72D-31S, or choose to send a personal check to the poet’s ABLE account. It takes about two weeks for the poet to be notified of your patronage.
