A Garfield Hug
Think the concept’s sort of sappy?
Try it ~ it will make you happy!
Though we don’t know how it works,
Suddenly those office jerks
Who just about drive us berserk
The whole time that we are at work,
Drivers’ tempers which erode
With every inch of homeward road,
Demanding parents, neighbors, wife,
The frustrations of a life
Looking after everything
To our doorstep it will bring
Fade into a smaller place
When we look at that silly face
And run our hands over his lush
Orangy synthetic plush
Satisfy a basic itch
Feeling his pillowy squish
So we hug him very tight
To get maximum delight
Then we look him in an eye
Most irreverently wry
With that smile upon his mug ~
Nothing beats a Garfield hug!
