Lift Me
O lift me from this place wherein
The petty scrabble falsehood in
No altruism e’en begin
To balance its array of sin
The Lie presides at uppermost
Seat, and plays the regal host
And just beyond, with visage pale
Our widow’s-peaked, demure Betrayal
Promenades to dinner on
The arm of stern Denigration
Keeping ceaseless watch upon
Any unseemly Elation,
Who’s been known to take a chance
Presented her to laugh or dance ~
Two naive activities
No jaded entity well please!
Suggestion brings the dinners in
Reflection’s banished to the bin
From which the poisoned cover came
And all the healthy scraps go in
All the music backward plays
The table stands, the floral lays
Aught authenticity amaze
Any who frequent here
I would converse with those like me
Who very small percentage see
In behaving slightingly
To any a good brother be
Without such I am sore perplexed
By sadness drawn, by sorrow vexed
Lost in wonder and amaze
At how people spend their days

Until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ and to begin once again to create professional connections and to rebuild her life, this poet presently lives homeless and at a fraction of her nation’s poverty level ~ still working seven days a week to contribute to her society, however.
Arts patrons may visit http://www.UgiftABLE.com , using code #72D-31S, or choose to send a personal check to the poet’s ABLE account. It takes about two weeks for the poet to be notified of your patronage.
