Today marks the beginning of Women’s History Month here in the United States ~ one during which this poet enjoys offering her tongue-in-cheek series on the lives of ladies who have helped to make modern life as we know it possible for all of us.

It occurs to her that the outfit which, over her three years of targeted homelessness, she has gradually adopted as most practical and comfortable for a female in navigating perpetual public view in all weathers and circumstances is virtually identical to the infamous suffragette “Bloomer” outfit mentioned at poem’s end.

The poet’s device is not presently sharing recordings of her works through her Dropbox account in the usual way. It took one hour, a full device restart, and alternate routing to bring her readers this one. She hopes to be able to remain connected online through all the EMP and hacking activity by which she seems perpetually surrounded.

Infamous Laydeez ~ Bruisin’ Susan

A challenge ’twas to women who
Befriend Susan Anthony —
Those rallies she kept going to
Hoping to impress
Impervious powers that be
(If necessary, by duress)
Of the advisability
Of allowing such as she
Masculine rooms to imbue
With rampant femininity
Determining anew
The unacceptability
Of laws taken for granted be
By those privileged few
Whom benefit by them access
Allowing them a gross excess
Of lucre to accrue
Not to mention that if you
Hung out with such a stocking blue
You must expose your ankles to
Unsympathetic public view
In dread social ignimony:
She tended to require that you
Wear a Bloomer dress!

Until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ and to begin once again to create professional connections and to rebuild her life, this poet presently lives homeless and at a fraction of her nation’s poverty level ~ still working seven days a week to contribute to her society, however.

Arts patrons may visit http://www.UgiftABLE.com , using code #72D-31S, or choose to send a personal check to the poet’s ABLE Nevada account. It takes about two weeks for the poet to be notified of your patronage.

Thank you for supporting quality in the fine arts.
