Are You Confused?
Do you think someone
Might be feeding on your energy
But when all is said and done
You do not wish unfair to be
Now relationship’s begun
No wish to act too hastily
It might be good, it might be fun
It might just be your destiny?…
When questions of this magnitude
Come into my view
I readjust my attitude
By asking, “What would good love do
To establish rectitude,
Thus this relationship renew,
Or find your suff’ring to be food
Nourishing one cares not for you?
“And, by it, motivation find
From inaction to clean release
To clear again the willing mind
Which ever seeks true friends to please,
To all acquaintances be kind
Nor must consider need to cease
When its recipient is blind,
Giving naught but dim unease?”
An answer comes, as answers do
Easily and instantly
When inner blockages are few,
Open to inspiration be,
I can’t swear it will work for you
But you can always try and see
Whether by it you accrue
Assurances of verity,
Or, clearly, of its opposite,
So that armed with such you know
Your presence is not requisite
With a clear conscience you may go
To seek out whatsoever it
Might take to make you really glow
Assisting in deciding it,
Rather than wav’ring to and fro,
In timely fashion, while at low
Levels of intensity
Before its complications grow
Prohibitively
So I consent to let you know:
If it were happening to me
I for all happiness would go
Enthusiastically!
I’d give the thing my all
Behaving most agreeably
Consideration none too small,
No sacrifice too great would be
Leap every fence, tear down each wall
Leaving naught but clarity —
That’s when a predator will fall,
Following, habit’ually,
The path in early lifetime take:
Not too rigorous to look
For convenience’s sake
At what sacrifice it took
This appetite or that to slake ~
Trees were made be thorough shook
Whether or not discomfort make
Long as they’ve got you ‘on the hook’
Their instinct is to take and run
Anything offered you by ~
Once momentum has begun
They seldom stop to wonder why
This very special someone
Struggles so very hard to try
To make them love and find them fun ~
Their greediness them now belie
If you have built such high
They now decide look down on you
Your value tacitly deny
By giving you more tasks to do
First you catch them in one lie
Then you catch them in two
A given ~ they don’t have to try
Dissembling for you
This pleases them — a little bit ~
But that would please them more
They wish you to a mold would fit
They didn’t talk about before —
That, darlin’, is the point of it,
For now you may walk out their door
Energized and animate
Nor wond’ring if you ‘should do more.’
