When it comes to the creation of new works, the poet’s Muse has everything ~ and the poet nearly nothing ~ to say about the timing of their creation.

The poet might be unable to offer it, however, here it is ~ hot off the presses.

But she can’t ~ she just can’t ~ read it aloud for you today.

Couldn’t She be our Pet Poet?

Couldn’t she be our pet poet?
~ Though in many ways she’s unable
Couldn’t we table, if we are able,
Whether “unstable” or “stable”?

Could we park her out back
With the old tractor tires and the dog,
That Pontiac Grand you were gonna restore,
The collards, the leeks and the hog?

It wouldn’t that we would to see her
Or smell her or hear her require
… And, just now and then, from her little white den
She just might somebody inspire!

You’re telling me that those ol’ zoning
Prohibitive strictures are clear:
There can’t and there won’t be the owning
Of any pet poets ’round here!

So we’ll send it off to a shelter
Where it can’t sleep and it can’t write ~
Too bad, when in page and in person,
It tried to bring only delight…

Until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ and to begin once again to create professional connections and to rebuild her life, this poet presently lives homeless and at a fraction of her nation’s poverty level ~ still working every day in which she can to contribute to her society, however.

Arts patrons may visit http://www.UgiftABLE.com , using code #72D-31S. It does take two weeks for the poet to be notified of your patronage.

Thank you for supporting quality in the fine arts.
