Often I cannot:
Recognize a face
Remember a name

Do simple math
Keep track of what day it is
Or go the right direction on my own block

I can:
Write a flawless sonnet
In fifteen minutes

On the subject of your request and
Including your chosen 
Iambic phrase

I can:
Tell the truths of love
Coherently and justly

I can:
Fast, keep vigil,
Meditate

I know:
How to pray
To wait

Often I am judged to be:
Stupid, unrealistic
And self defeating

Until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ and to begin once again to create professional connections and to rebuild her life, this poet presently lives homeless and at a fraction of her nation’s poverty level ~ still working to contribute to her society, however, seven days a week.
