The ‘Good News Movement,’ gained traction rapidly worldwide between 2018 and 2020, generating thousands of “copycat” do-gooders, and is alive and thriving on sites such as “Reasons to be Happy,” “The Good News Network,” and WP’s own “Anything is Possible.”

The More the Merrier
The more the “Good News” of the day
The more we learn to think that way
Less of shooters, less of hooters
Less of scooters and commuters
More of kindness taking hold
Kids who care to help the old
Bus drivers who comfort the
Child on board whom newest be
The officer who really tries
To offer comfort and advice
Community respect deserve
Genuinely “protect and serve”
The unselfish stewardess
All her scanty free time bless
A frightened one with autism
Overcome that awesome schism
Competitors who stop their play
To help a teammate some bright day
Or — which makes us even prouder
Speaks of love a little louder —
For their competition
Exercise compassion
People who remember when
They were in need, and turn again
A presently entitled face
Forgetting not beginning place
Seek to do maximum good
In some beat-up neighborhood
And in the world of DYI
We need not stop short of the sky ~
Be there some minds and hearts so large
They post inventions free of charge
‘Grandmas for Peace,’ ‘Yellow Vests,’
Carefully worded protests
Against practices now abhor
Were thought routine not long before
I think influence of “Good News”
Be such as no heart can refuse
