This poet got enough sleep last night ~ and has a sufficiently well-working device this morning ~ to turn out this new **Haiku!

Readers sufficiently long standing to be familiar with her situation will be as astonished by this as she is.

She can hardly expect it to last long.

Carpe diem.

* A rather ancient saying ~ later adapted by Will Shakespeare, went ~ “May you live in interesting times!”

… It was, in fact, a curse.

** Those newer readers wishing to take up with this poet the technicalities of the “5-7-5” syllable count widely held as required in the Western world should be aware that they are speaking to an early apprentice of the world-awarded Haiku master Ty Hadman, and an invitational reader with the Haiku Society of America at a National Poetry Convention of the 1990’s.

… Also that the English syllable bears no practical relationship to the Japanese “word unit.”

Until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ and to begin once again to create professional connections and to rebuild her life, this poet presently lives homeless and at a fraction of her nation’s poverty level ~ still working to contribute to her society, howeverseven days a week.

Arts patrons may visit http://www.UgiftABLE.com , using code #72D-31S. It does take several days for the poet to be notified of your patronage.
