Spiral Eyeballs

“I can’t think of happiness
For very long at all
I’d rather see somebody
Into mis’ry fall

“My mind is full of sitcoms
Soap operas and lies
When someone tells the truth
It always gives me a surprise

“All that sanctimonious
Sentimental junk —
Loyalty and honesty —
Just put me in a funk

“I’d rather gossip, rather gripe
About what someone did to me
And how that someone paid right back
Is what I plan to see

“Unless I get the inner hint
I might be losing you ~
Then I’ll raise a cackling
False, fake laugh or two

“You give me time and time again
The opportunity
Affirmative, constructive
And, yes, peaceful, too, to be

“But that I think is boring
Yes, that I find too bland
Whilst conflict, pain and
Accusation, on the other hand,

“Are meat and drink and bread,
And good dessert as well, to me
Who can’t for even one short evening
Simply peaceful be”

Homeless until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ this poet presently lives under perpetual threat of towing with all possessions should her 23-year-old van stop running for any reason.
