Metaquiase Ho!
The trees were first to answer —
“Thank you much for your concern
But as you know us better
Of we plant lives you will learn
The chilly wind we feel as
Pleasant cool upon our skin —
‘Tis when the hot sun shining is
That some discomfort we begin”
The little blades of grass chimed in,
“Among us we have an adage:
‘So long as spike no root dig in
Footsteps are but a good massage!’”
The birds then sang, “When taking to
The air, it is so sweet
There’s really no trick flying to —
Just have to feel the beat!”
“Oh, dear, oh, dear,” said all the deer
“Our hide so toughened is
Enormous brambles be to you
To us are but a whiz”
In silent confraternity
The lizard and anenome
Looked to one another see,
Then both winked silently at me
“This peaceful life, contemplative,
Of which I make no moan
Is one I’ve happy been to live,”
Added the little stone
The water laughed as it declared
“Oh, you don’t understand
One hundredth of what we prepared
Always to do are, out of hand!
“We drops can turn to medicine
In the twinkling of an eye
Or, poured polluted waters in,
Those waters purify
“Remains it to be manifest,
In some bright future, whether
We will bring out the planet’s best ~
Let’s learn to work together!
‘Requires it but you understand,
Comprehend the bent,
To benefit both sea and land
By power of intent…”
The bumblebee wiggled a buss
As though she would agree
With colors that the octopus
Displaying was for me
“Isn’t it rich,” the two of them
Somehow seemed to say,
“That Mother Nature’s every whim
Is manifest this way?
“How poorer all of us would be
Did none dance, nor none glow —
How wond’rous the variety
Which we’ve all come to know!”
Bidding the setting Sun adieu
Nodding to a blackberry
I bethought me write for you
And came in to make tea

Homeless until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ this poet presently lives under perpetual threat of towing with all possessions should her 23-year-old van stop running for any reason.
She is badly in need of a modest reserve with which to field any emergency which might occur.
Donors may visit http://www.UgiftABLE.com , using code #72D-31S. It does take several days for the poet to be notified of your patronage.
Thank you for supporting quality in the fine arts.
