A Sufficiency of Joy

A day in peace, spent quietly at home —
So many conjure such to boring be,
Yet, for those souls forced endlessly to roam,
Is dreamed-of but unhoped-for luxury

A latching door to keep away those who
Become have, by frustrations of their own,
Malicious, cruel and destructive to
Serenity which they have never known

A roof — protection from the snow and rain
And walls to block away the wild winds’ rage,
And cushions to sit upon without pain —
Just by, the cup of tea, the friendly page —

A day at home can never boring be
Viewed from a heart sufficient gratefully

Homeless until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ this poet presently lives under perpetual threat of towing with all possessions should her 23-year-old van stop running for any reason.
