Same as Everybody

Oh do you have some childhood pain
That you are clinging to?
And do you keep it in between
All that’s beautiful and you?

Have you been pampered, cossetted
Comforted and catered to
Because nobody wanted to
More harm do to pathetic you?

Now let me tell, self-centered one,
How in real adult life it goes:
There’s not one person you can see
Who’s not in sorrow’s throes

Wake up — your loss is shared by so
Many, many people
Whom until now you have refused
To consider your equal

Those who know no sorrow
In callous numbness go
(Be thankful that some pain has come
To help your spirit grow)

And such are few and far between
O such are very rare ~
The av’rage person leads a life
Full up of despair

It comes with our maturity ~
Eventually each of us
Realize our life’s the same
As everybody’s ever was

Homeless until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ this poet presently lives under perpetual threat of towing with all possessions should her 23-year-old van stop running for any reason.

She is badly in need of a modest reserve with which to field any emergency which might occur.

Donors may visit http://www.UgiftABLE.com , using code #72D-31S. It does take several days for the poet to be notified of your patronage.

Thank you for supporting quality in the fine arts.
