Ever Discover
Do I look like that girl in the magazine ad?
Are there too many straps on my shoes?
Do my pants ride my hips like that dude in the sitcom?
Have I managed just three days of beard?
If I smile with one corner instead of with two
Will that hypnotise, dazzle and subjugate you?
Does my auto look like I have money?
Did I chuckle in just the right way
To give you the clue I am humoring you
And don’t really care what you say?
Are my glasses sufficiently ugly
A cool fashion statement to make?
Would I look all ultimately hip and cool
If someone decided my picture to take?
Is my logo sufficient impressive,
The shirt underneath it just like
Everyone else’s, their muster to pass?
Do I live in the right part of town?
And when I am all through
Imitating you
For shallow and petty societal gain
Will I ever discover my true self again?

Homeless until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ this poet presently lives under perpetual threat of towing with all possessions should her 23-year-old van stop running for any reason.
She is badly in need of a modest reserve with which to field any emergency which might occur.
Donors may visit http://www.UgiftABLE.com , using code #72D-31S. It does take several days for the poet to be notified of your patronage.
Thank you for supporting quality in the fine arts.
