It is these fierce defenders of the oh-so-nearly completely meaningless mediocrity being published in the name of modern “poetry” that have America’s once-in-a-generation author of 5000 pages of timeless verse sitting out in the cold tonight, unrecognized, unpublished, unpaid and therefore unhoused ~ with her three-year stalker/targeter’s squeaking transceiver noises sounding around her van, and one hour’s worth of his steadily introduced hexavalent chemical building inside it.

To Every Collegiate Poetry Snob

Herein find some illustrative
Posts, which may perspective give
To any academic snob
Insinuates might do my job
Better than I do myself
(Unworthy of my wretched pelf,
Such pathetic verses airing
For the carefully uncaring):

I can easily conform
To constraints of any form
— Difficult! And yet, the while,
Do it in most any style
Previously dignified
By your regard (now rarefied):
Don’t approve of rhythmic rhyme
Formerly you thought sublime?

Wipe your nose on Edgar Guest,
Browning, Blake, and all the rest,
Sounding “valueless” the siren
On the verses of Lord Byron?
Can’t find wisdom, pathos, fun
In the works of Dickinson?
Don’t fret — I accommodate
In the breadth that I create

Both the radical e.e.
And the divine Dorothy…
My claim’s awesome — ‘twould behoove it
I bestir myself to prove it!
That’s what I intend to do
Right here now, and straight to you

Think my claims are empty boasts?
Just read my last hundred posts!

Homeless until removal of the stalker/targeter/vandal/arsonist following her allows her to approach any landlord ~ even for a private parking space ~ this poet presently lives under perpetual threat of towing with all possessions should her 23-year-old van stop running for any reason.
