Trusted, Trusted, Trusted
This genius came into town
We trusted, trusted, trusted
Told us we could blow apart
Corruption all encrusted
And even though our own good conscience
Patently forbid it
Everything he told us to,
We did it, did it, did it
Trusting, like everything else,
He adequately hid it
Not realizing he gets off
Not from the disaster
But from the confusion
Which always follows after
It matters not who falls then
To please this master’s whim
If it’s a close companion
It’s funnier to him
Now we’re all on record
As hackers and as vandals
As soon as they look at it
We’ll be known as scandals
But here’s the real, live, truthful,
And the hurtful bitch of it:
We didn’t blow apart corruption
Not one little bit
We’re here to say whatever it
Was you found to itch ya
It disappears when they show up
With the REAL militia
We’ve nothing for comfort now
We’re busted, busted, busted.
