Nothing changed overnight.
Longtime readers will have been under few illusions that it would.
What does this nation want from her?
Not her poetry.
That much has been made very, very…
Very.
Clear.
So let’s have one here ~ just to remind us of what that nation is opting so enthusiastically out of ~ shall we?

Life is not Victory, Nor Death Defeat
Yes, this is what the greatest of them knew
They knew beyond the shadow of a doubt
That victory is but to see it through
To run the extra mile, to last it out
To answer when history’s strictest call
Beckons with iron finger crooked by fate
To serve, instead of merely one, the All,
To something lasting for this world create
Do souls of MLK and Gandhi Ji
In sad regret and melancholy go
Who had their hand in shaping history?
Deep in mine own soul, I do not think so
Though it is to be treasured, for ’tis sweet
Life is not victory, nor death defeat

This poet is physically disabled.
Public housing being insufficient to her medical and creative needs, in order to continue working she is presently living in her minivan, publishing all of her works using one thumb on the touch screen of her smartphone and surviving at a fraction of her nation’s poverty level.
If her work has touched you, she would treasure any contribution you might be good enough to offer ~ http://www.UgiftABLE.com ● #72D-31S.
Please be aware that it takes several days for her to be notified of patronage. Thank you for caring.
