A Lovely Morning

I’ve had a lovely morning
Anybody would agree
From the very first of it
Everyone has smiled at me

The head of household, whose ablutions
I managed to interrupt
Because I had forgot to plug
In time my spare battery up

Then smiled the daughter, whom I blocked
Just trying to get her laundry to
The room in which the washer was
And that machine into

After that I got no better
Wouldn’t you just know
I standing was right in the way
My trailer buddy had to go

He said “Excuse me,” so polite
So very civilized
In any lady’s tender heart
Its memory be prized

The neighbor woman said “Good day”
As I went walking by
Dogs didn’t seem to bark as much
I really don’t know why

The driver kneeled his bus for me
Even the train’s uniformed guard
Made it a point to pleasant be
When she asked me for my card

Strangers struck up conversations
About anything at all
Moved their carts so I could get
To the products on the wall

If it’s going to give such flavor
To my life of elegance
Perhaps I should consider being
More of an inconvenience!
