(We presently have before us, even in our disaster-oriented media, the rare, precious public prototype of a successfully and peacefully self-policed, orderly and tidy homeless community.

Having been there herself, the poet can bring her readers along for a look at how it goes in there)

Early Administration in the New Era

Anybody hungry?
Got sandwich stuff here…

“Respect and consideration”!
Good words!…

Would you mind very much
Picking up your trash?

That was kind —
Thank you, sister…

Freely gave you what I had
Don’t be asking for more

You’re kind and quiet
Welcome to sleep here

No, we won’t watch your belongings
While you trip off forever

Who do you think are you talking to,
Brother?

I know you can’t sit still with us —
I’ll bring some of this to you

Okay to vent your anger
Just try not to be insulting

Got a problem with things
Being thrown at me, bro

Could we refer to the women
A little more respectfully?

A little warning before you
Whip it out to pee would be nice

Did you get to hit
This medicine stick?

Man, that really was
A great song he just played for us

Your poem
Rocked our world, sister

Get to listen to that brother
Reading aloud this afternoon?

Swap you li’l a this
For a li’l a that…

Got what you need?
All good?

Okay…

See you tomorrow
Stay safe.
