The poet pulled up beside a house beside which she had actually been made welcome in the past…

… To find a “no parking” sign covering that whole half block.

She pulled up at the next formerly legal space.

… To find a “no parking” sign there as well.

This is how we do it here:

We don’t do anything at all about the criminal following the poet.

That would allow her to move further off in actual safety.

Instead, we put up new “no parking” signs ~ to crowd her out while it’s still dangerous.
