Between People
Before we add our little bit
Before we denigrate
Before we edit or adjust
That which our brothers may relate
We find the way beforehand to
Mutual harmony
Celebrate with heart and voice
Twixt we two what alikeness be
“There’s some truth in what you say,”
“That’s worth some thought,” “I see your point,”
“I’ll meditate on that!”
So we with dignity anoint
The well-intended offerings
Other sojurners of
Receiving them with fully mete
Appreciation, and with love
Before we offer those insights
Uniquely given in our name,
And hope that our companions
Treat our heartfelt gifts the same
