Under All Circumstances
When life is going as I wish it to
Modest goals which I have set
Appear as though they may be met
Dare hope constructive end results to view
Waking every morning cheerf’ly bright:
I write
When trouble lowers grim its brow
Good plans begin to go astray
In a most disturbing way
Allowing me not figure how
Contend with cold misfortune’s pain:
I write again
When o’er horizon, dawning hope
A promise offers of
Harmony and love
And opportunity to cope
With challenges which came before:
I write some more
And when in calm and peaceful time
I quiet sit with cup of tea
Recollecting me
A lifetime’s stories, all in rhyme
For my readers’ delight:
What do you think? I write!
